Andrew ‘Father Andrew was born Henry Ernest Hardy, the fourth son of Colonel Edmund Armitage Hardy and Grace Maxwell Aiken, on January 7, 1869, in Kausali, India. After spending his early life in India, the Hardy family moved back to their English home where he was educated at Clifton College in Bristol, followed by Keble College in Oxford, and finally received his training for the priesthood at Ely Theological College. He had a life-long love of art…; he was an accomplished playwright and poet; he wrote hymns, at least one of which is still commonly heard echoing through English cathedrals; he co-founded the Society of the Divine Compassion on January 20, 1894, the first male Franciscan order in England since the time of the Reformation; he was highly sought after as a confessor and spiritual director, as well as a leader of retreats; he worked with those suffering from smallpox and other infectious diseases in London’s East End; and for all but one year in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), his fifty-two years of service as a parish priest and friar was spent in Plaistow, London. Father Andrew was truly a spiritual giant, a master of prayer. Alex Marlowe Fr. Alex Marlowe was born in Aix-en-Provence, France but grew up mainly in Quebec, Canada and Senegal, West Africa where his father was a pastor, missionary, and church planter. He studied theater at Shorter University, but fell into teaching high school after graduation. After leaving the teaching field he began working for his father at Mission to the World, a Christian missionary organization, as a member of the training and development team where he worked for eight years. He and his wife, Olivia, began attending an Anglican Church in 2016 shortly after they were married and they were confirmed the following Easter. Feeling a call to the priesthood, he was accepted into postulancy and began his seminary studies in February 2020. He was ordained a Deacon in March 2022 and began serving as Curate at All Saints Anglican Parish in Wilmington, North Carolina in April of 2022. He received his Master of Arts (Religion) from Reformed Theological Seminary in December 2022. He was ordained a Priest in March 2023. Having felt a call to church planting for many years, he learned of the new Mission in Johnson City TN and accepted the call to be the planting pastor for the Mission. Fr. Alex and Olivia have four children: Sally, Jeffrey, Bonnie, and Molly. They love hospitality and warmly welcome you to their home anytime. When not busy with ministry or playing with his kids, Fr. Mike DuCharme Fr. Mike served as a priest and military chaplain in the United States Army Chaplaincy. Upon retirement after 22.5 years of military service, he relocated to Johnson City, TN to become an associate Priest at Johnson City Anglican Mission in April of 2025. Mike was ordained a priest in 2017 and has served in Anglican Chapel services and a civilian parish for the past eight years. He and his wife, Lisa have three adult children of whom two are married. Fr. Mike enjoys playing pickle ball, walking his two dogs, and meeting new people.
